Uncover & Slice the Elephant and Motivate Agile Teams

February 26, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Motivation is often cited as the issue #1 when it comes to failing projects and similarly often taken as a given in agile projects. What can you do if you feel that your team isn’t entirely motivated?

I’m Barbara Dravec and here’s my journey with an agile project team that very early on pointed out that they fear “some project team members” lack the motivation and drive to complete the project.
Motivation is a multilayer concept. Since Daniel Pink’s fantastic compilation “Drive” that lays out the vast field of motivational research and related topics it’s possible to navigate the topic for a non-psychologist agile coach like myself. I’ll provide some helpful tips and tricks, methods and concepts how you could go about dealing, improving and solving motivational issues with agile teams.

RTP ALN Open Space: The Pandemic and Onward

February 19, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

The Raleigh Durham (RTP – Research Triangle Park) Chapter of the Agile Leadership Network is hosting our annual OpenSpace Conference. This year the conference is coordinated with the Agile20Reflect Festival.

Our organizing theme is “The Pandemic and Onward.” For many in technology, remote working and distributed teams are familiar territory. In other business sectors, like financial and manufacturing, the pandemic isolation has been a disruption. For personal services and hospitality, its been nothing short of a disaster.

Outside of business, the pandemic has turned the modern dilemma of a person who is “alone in a crowd” into a person who is “in a crowd alone.” Our contact with others is mediated through apps and telecommunication devices. At one time we have never been more connected while being so apart.

And, yet, we see adaptation, innovation, and change: theaters stream live performances and musicians sell concerts from their living rooms; Zoom has become synonymous with on-line conferencing with families and friends; schools consider a future where there are no more snow days.

How has the pandemic disrupted the workplace? What role has Agile played in the response to the disruption? Which of these changes are lasting? What does the Future of Work look like after the pandemic has ended?

Join us to explore the past, present, and future of Agile through the lens of the global pandemic and our response to it.

The value of Agile in the rise of AI-driven solutions

February 18, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

In this talk, Myriam Hamed Torres will be sharing insights on how Agile values, principles and practices can help teams and organisations address these challenges.

For decades, AI-solutions have been part of our day-to-day life without most of us even noticing it. Some of the big-tech firms were leading the way and created a competitive advantage over more traditional organisations. Nowadays, AI-driven solutions are pretty much a must have in order to remain in the game, however, there’s still a lot of research and experimentation required in this field that make organisations and their clients nervous about introducing new products with such capabilities. So, with this in mind, how do you help an organisation create value from experiments and prototypes? How do you increase confidence among users to adopt solutions that are still learning into their complex workflows?
