Uncover & Slice the Elephant and Motivate Agile Teams

February 26, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Motivation is often cited as the issue #1 when it comes to failing projects and similarly often taken as a given in agile projects. What can you do if you feel that your team isn’t entirely motivated?

I’m Barbara Dravec and here’s my journey with an agile project team that very early on pointed out that they fear “some project team members” lack the motivation and drive to complete the project.
Motivation is a multilayer concept. Since Daniel Pink’s fantastic compilation “Drive” that lays out the vast field of motivational research and related topics it’s possible to navigate the topic for a non-psychologist agile coach like myself. I’ll provide some helpful tips and tricks, methods and concepts how you could go about dealing, improving and solving motivational issues with agile teams.

PRINCE2 Agile® The perfect match for project delivery

February 26, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Often the approaches of Agile and PRINCE2® are seen as mutually exclusive from one another, but we are here to show you that they are in fact, the perfect combination for organisations needing a successful route to project delivery.
Agile ways of working have never been more in demand and the stop start nature of today’s project environment requires a high degree of agility. We are here to show you how this can be achieved within the tried and tested waterfall approach of PRINCE2®.
Some organisations are using both agile and waterfall approaches to projects very successfully. PRINCE2 Agile® gives guidance on how to use them together in a blended approach that maximises on both of their strengths.
We are here to tell you:
• Why agile has been proved to bring benefits in terms of quicker delivery so that an organisation can start to see value from what they deliver much more quickly.
• What these agile ways of working and delivering projects are. Here we cover SCRUM, Lean Startup and Kanban (to name but a few).
• Why the PRINCE2® focus on project delivery can assist agile product delivery methods to create the perfect hybrid for successful project management.

This session is held in a SPOCE ONLIVE Virtual Classroom environment so will give attendees the opportunity to interact with our lead PRINCE2 Agile® trainer Harminder Ahluwalia. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you wish regarding this guide to project approaches.

Harminder Ahluwalia, Principal Consultant has spent the past twenty years delivering Project, Programme and Risk Management Training and Consultancy Services Globally (including the worlds 1st Prince2 Agile Training Course); specialising in Virtual Classroom Environments with prior years in the project and risk management environments with a background in IT, Software development and Team Leadership. Harminder holds many Lead Trainer roles and also provides Client Liaison and Support to many ATO’s and clients.

AgilePM® and its roots in DSDM project delivery

February 10, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Many of the agile approaches focus on products and their delivery as this is their background. AgilePM® adds something new to the mix. It recognises that a project environment differs from ongoing product development and caters for this in its approach and framework. It recognises that projects have a lifecycle and are subject to a viable business case that identifies the benefits and the value that the deliverables will provide. The lifecycle in AgilePM® mirrors this lifecycle through Pre-project, Feasibility and Foundations.
In this virtual classroom overview we will walk you through AgilePM® as an approach to successful project delivery.
• Explain the deep rooted connection with DSDM and why this contributes to the success of AgilePM® as framework for successful project delivery.
• Explain the contents of the AgilePM® toolbox, how this is linked to agile ways of working and can be applied to any project, whether professional or personal.
• The basic principles surrounding this approach and the Agile Manifesto.

This session is held in a the SPOCE ONLIVE Virtual Classroom environment so will give attendees the opportunity to interact with our lead AgilePM® trainer Harminder Ahluwalia. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you wish regarding this guide to project approaches.

AgilePM, why so popular?

February 4, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Since its introduction in late 2010, AgilePM has quickly established itself as the world’s leading framework and certification for agile project management, with over 150,000 exams sat globally.

Developed and published by our partner the Agile Business Consortium, AgilePM guidance (the AgilePM Handbook) offers a practical and repeatable methodology that achieves an ideal balance between the standards, rigour and visibility required for good project management, and the fast-pace, change and empowerment provided by Agile.

But why has it become so popular? In this webinar delivered in partnership with SPOCE Project Management, presenter Julia Gosse (an experienced project management practitioner, consultant & trainer) will provide an overview of:

> The history and development of AgilePM and relationship with DSDM;
> The features of AgilePM that make it a complete framework for underpinning successful Agile projects;
> AgilePM training and certification.
