Heart of Agile in action: Agile for the 21st Century

Heart of Agile is a radically simply model for thinking about your agile journey and for opening up new opportunities for improved team performance.

In this session we introduce Heart of Agile as a concept and position it in the broader contenxt of the Agile movement. We address what Heart of Agile (HoA) is it and why is it useful.

We then show an example of Heart of Agile in action; looking at a case study of how HoA can elevante daily standups. This standup exanmple shows us how HoA offers a pathway to an open ended “better” over following recipes and pursuing the bet practices of two decades ago.

We are so excited because for our Valentine’s Month meeting we will head to the Heart of all things Agile! Clearing our minds, and peeling off the rules, methods, jargon, restraints, and dogma, and experiencing what lies beneath. Happy Valentines! ❤️❤️❤️

As part of the Agile20reflect Festival, the Heart of Agile Scotland gang have asked our Shane Gallen to give the first public airing of his very popular Heart of Agile Workshop. Why? because it’s one of the most impactful Agile workshops we have been at. It is the one-stop-shop for connecting with the essence of Agile. Honestly, whether you are brand new to Agile, or you have been doing Agile for years, Shane’s workshop will give you greater awareness of Agile.

Shane asks: do you find yourself getting lost navigating through the complex maze of agile practices, frameworks, tools, techniques, methodologies, and jargon? Or maybe you are looking for a new way to focus discussion by removing complexity?

In this interactive workshop, where we will split into small groups with a facilitator to help capture the discussion and create a visualisations, Shane will help you focus back on the basics as a way to avoid getting stuck in complexity.

Speaker Biography
Hey my name is Shane and I am a lean-agile practitioner.

My motivation comes from helping people make sense of the complexity we live in, identify opportunities to improve life both inside and outside of work, and ignite a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

I am happiest when learning something new, whether this be a new capability, how something works (or doesn’t), or getting to know a colleague better.

Currently, I am working with teams as they explore and adopt agile in non-tech environments.
