Introducción al enfoque Flight Levels

February 9, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Conoce el enfoque que está revolucionando a nivel mundial la manera de escalar la Agilidad Empresarial (“Business Agility”) de forma práctica y efectiva.
“Implementing Agile Methods is a means – not the purpose – for achieving Business Agility”.
“Business Agility is no Team Sport! It is COMPANY Sport!”

The Agile Leadership Game

February 4, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Jeroen and Jan-Sake will deliver their interactive Agile Leadership game, an organization game that can either be played in the context of an organization or cross organization.
This game is fun to do and helps managers to see where they are on their improvement journey.
Society is constantly changing. Organizations are also changing. Although changes are of all times, it is obvious that changes come faster and faster and opportunities and threats come more unexpected. This asks for leadership which can handle these dynamics. We need good healthy companies that are Agile in responding. To make this transformation, leaders have to give the right example.
This game gives insight in mindset and right shifting, inspired by the Marshall model. The Marshall model considers mindset and effectiveness in transformation from an ad-hoc or bureaucratic organization towards a more agile organization.
The game initiates and facilitates discussions about what’s happening and what needs to be done. During the game attendees discuss about which leaderships behaviors, may or may not be effective.
In 2017 the Agile Consortium in the Netherlands created this game. A nice example of what a workgroup with motivated and inspiring participants can co-create. One of the driving forces from day one in this workgroup is Jan Sake Kruis. He created several enhancements around this game that started as a physical board game. Today there is a digital version available which we will use during this event. In the game there is no right or wrong, the game is a tool to start up the discussion and come to a common understanding of the current situation and agree on the next steps in the development of leadership in your organization.
Jeroen Venneman, currently chair of the board of the Agile Consortium in the Netherlands stimulated the startup and continuous improvements of this game.
Jan Sake and Jeroen will share their experience with this game and the ideas for next steps. Most important together with the help of a group of facilitators you will play this game. Hopefully you will get so enthusiastic that you volunteer to be part of the next steps on this game.

SPEAKERS
Jan-Sake Kruis:
Everything starts with getting a shared picture of the situation. Do we have a common understanding? That takes time, seriously time, because everything is always connected. If you really understand what is going on, then you usually fly forward together. Being vulnerable in this and daring to say when you don’t know is essential, I have experienced. That is why I like to create a safe environment where everyone can enjoy themselves.
Mutual consent, common understanding and freedom of action are core concepts in our thinking. These are elements that are also indispensable for Agile teams. I help organizations and their managers to see that you do not focus on solving problems, but that you develop them. By that I mean that you focus on developing the capabilities of your team so that they can take ownership. As your team grows, the results improve.
Call it servant leadership for self-organizing teams. I teach managers, scrum masters and product owners not to find the answer to everything themselves, but to let the team excel. That brings pride, energy, innovation and people who are always learning new things together.

The Descaling Manifesto

February 2, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

Click here for the Zoom details

Scaling destroys business agility – meaning the ability to respond to changing market conditions. In 2018 only 4% of State Of Agile respondents reported that Agile helped their business respond to changing market conditions. In 2019 it was 6%. In 2020, the survey stopped asking that question.

Responding to change is one of the four manifesto values, so that’s a massively expensive failure across the whole world. Ignoring that failure in the VUCA world of 2021 is suicidal for any organization. So this session is about the values and principles of a new movement that inherits the whole Agile manifesto, and repurposes it to help organizations continuously, intelligently adapt to changing market conditions.

We’ll learn 5 critical descaling metrics and how to measure them across your organization; understand why we need to supplement the Agile values with 4 more if were going to accelerate learning flow across the organization, and explore 12 simple but extremely powerful ecosystem-thinking principles that distinguish agile businesses from hidebound, self-defeating bureaucracies.
