About the “Current State of Agile” talk by Alkesh Shah
This talk in series of talks for the 20th Anniversary of the Manifesto takes a closer look at the current state of Agile.
Together we look at why it has taken so long for organisations to adopt agile, what the key issues have been and how those that have are now finding a need to scale and experiencing new difficulties.
As with all of Alkesh’s talks, there are practical steps given that help understand the current state in your own organisations and also consider the rational for adoption for those of you yet to venture on this journey.
Alkesh demonstrates the broader aspects of agile as a mindset and drives a common sense approach to transformation.
About the Speaker:
Alkesh is a Principal Consultant at PA Consulting, has been an IBM Agile Thought Leader, Enterprise Agile Coach and trainer. He backs his 40 + years of IT business experience with a breadth of academic qualifications from an MBA, BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, Certified Scrum Master Professional and Product Owner as well as a SAFe SPC, IC Agile Enterprise Coach and Team Facilitator amongst his list of accreditations.
About the “Have we become “All talk – no Agile”?” talk by Gwen Hughes
What better time and place to reflect than the ‘Agile Reflect 20 Festival’ – and during this session, we’ll be doing just that as we take a long hard look at ourselves, and our agility.
With the popularity of Agile having skyrocketed since it’s humble beginnings in 2001, have we all become “All talk and no Agile”? Are we still obeying by the Agile Principles, or have we fallen into bad habits? Has Agile become a goal we hope to one day achieve, rather than a set of values to abide by every day?
Over the course of this interactive session, we’ll take a look at how far Agile has come in the last 20 years. We’ll put ourselves under the microscope to find out whether or not we really are as Agile as we say we are. And if we really aren’t that Agile – what does that mean?
About the Speaker:
Gwen is an Agile Team Lead for Zappi – a ground-breaking technology company that’s changing the market research industry. Despite starting her career as a Software Developer, her passions very much revolve around the people she works with as she strives to bring the Agile Philosophy into their everyday working lives.
When she’s not wearing her ‘Agile Team Lead’ hat – Gwen is (usually) pretty hard to track down as she travels the world, exploring new countries and learning from their cultures. If you come across Gwen and want to break the ice – ask her about how she even uses her Agile skills to plan holidays!!
