Grace is a Nigerian and lives in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. She has worked mostly as a Project Manager for close to five years in the housing sector. She started off working to deliver social housing in 2014, where Grace and her team successfully delivered a prototype of social housing in a State in Nigeria. They went on to record successes with some other states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, securing Lands without financial cost to the organisation, as one of their fundamental approaches to delivering social housing. She moved on at the end of 2015, away from social housing, focusing on all things leading to the production of sustainable housing; a housing approach focused on using sustainable materials in the housing production process. Being that power supply was and still is a major challenge in Nigeria, they focused on the use of solar as a major source of energy and an important theme in the design and construction of houses for their clients. Grace’s duties quickly changed overtime to Interfacing with investors, the government of states in Nigeria and clients.
Grace is a PMI certified project manager, with a Master of Science in project management and a first degree in urban and regional planning. The year 2020 has been a defining year for her, as it has allowed her to transit to the agile space. Her current focus is on all things agile and digital transformation.

Pitcher Artists – Bringing the Vision of Agile20Reflect to the World in Pictures

February 20, 2021 By Scott Seivwright

A cartoon of three guys and a pitcher of beer.

We are very pleased to get Stuart Young and Sathpal Singh together as they bring the festival to life in pictures whilst sharing a beer.

We’ll be walking through the principles and discussing the power of Visual Thinking. This will be a relaxed chat and an opportunity to ask questions. You might want to grab yourself a sharpie too!

There’s always time for a Visual Thinking exercise. The Agile20Reflect Festival.

The Future of Ethics in the Agile Community – Time for Action? Panel Discussion

February 19, 2021 By Scott Seivwright

Ethics panel

Details
The Agile20Reflect Festival is delighted to be hosting this event, which aims to explore the critical topic of ethics.

In setting up the festival, a lot of time was spent a on developing the Community Policy and debating, amongst ourselves, behaviour that we deem acceptable and unacceptable. As we grow as a community, and more and more people come in with different backgrounds, cultural experiences and expectations, the need for a common ethical code seems essential.

In this debate, chaired by Sathpal, Padmini, Shane, Daniel and Scott will discuss the key challenges and urgencies, and explore things we can do to self-regulate as a community.

Come along and ask the panel the tough questions!
Let’s explore this critical topic together.

Our Panellists:

Shane Hastie
Shane leads the Culture and Methods editorial team for InfoQ.com, where he hosts the weekly InfoQ Culture Podcast. He is the Director of Agile Learning Programs for ICAgile.

Shane was a director of the Agile Alliance from 2011 to 2016 and is the founding Chair of Agile Alliance New Zealand. “I firmly believe that humanistic way of working and the agile mindset are desperately needed in organisations all around the globe today. Taking agile values and principles beyond software is important and making sure they are properly embedded is absolutely crucial for success – we’re in an industry that touches every aspect of people’s lives and massively influences society as a whole and I want to be a part of making sure that industry is both ethical and sustainable.”

Padmini Nidumolu
Padmini is one of the founders of Lean In Agile for Women in the Washington DC area, and also hosts a meetup focused connecting women in the Agile community to share their stories.

Archived The Ethics of Agile Coaching with the Agile Alliance Agile Coaching Initiative

February 12, 2021 By Scott Seivwright

Coaching Ethics

Agile Coaching is hit and miss–there are no industry guidelines and standards around what good coaching is and active harm is being done by some unethical coaches out there today. While having a voluntary ‘Code of Conduct’ might not prevent this from happening, it could raise visibility around what good behaviours should be expected of a professional and ethical agile coach.During this interactive session, we will present some new ideas around what an Agile Coaching Code of Conduct could be based on the work done by the volunteer team from the Agile Alliance Agile Coaching Ethics Initiative, and engages the audience (that’s you!) to add anything that should be added to the draft code.
