Is this Festival Unsettling You? What’s Going On?

February 9, 2021 By Scott Seivwright

Mountain with Quote!!

Hi Festival Chief – Pirate here!

So we have created this amazing “Box of Agile delights” in the festive! So much wisdom, so much creativity and we have brought together so many amazing people. You are meeting people way beyond your context! Different countries, different types of people and different dangerous ideas. This is like travel in covid times. and Travel educates and broadens your horizons.

You will be feeling happy, connected, challenged and experimental. Then something else happens!

You feel a little uncertain, some of your truths have been demolished. You are having a yearning for better. You feel unsettled. Perhaps you ask new questions who am I? Where am I going? You might even feel unhappy!

You ask why can a festival make me unhappy!! Don’t worry.. Its natural!

If this is  happening to you! You are seeing this amazing journey and your soul is calling out for you to start your own journey, build your own thing and have your own adventure.

If it is go on… start your journey… its time.. think big and go create something. I am here if you need any advice! But my advice to you is grab your roll-mat and Pilgrim stick and head the call to adventure.. Create, Build, find allies, find mentors. Go… Go now… head your call.. Your destiny my dear friend awaits! This festival has been designed to be a catalyst for change! Go Change the world!

Adapt How You Lead for Agile Success with Johanna Rothman

Adapt How You Lead for Agile Success with Johanna Rothman Agile20Reflect Festival

Modern Management: Adapt how you lead for Agile Success

Abstract:

Agile approaches have downplayed the role of management. Too many people say, “We don’t need no stinkin’ managers.” On the contrary. We need managers to create and refine the agile culture and create leadership capability across the organization. Without modern management, any agile transformation dies a quick and ugly death. Instead, it’s time to invite managers to change their behaviors to transform to an agile culture. Learn to see and create management excellence for your agile culture.

Learning outcomes:

1. See the myths that prevent management from achieving leadership excellence and agility.
2. Learn the 7 principles that create leadership (as opposed to management).
3. Consider several actions to bypass these myths.
4. Choose which of your management behaviors to change, to serve the agile team or organization.
5. Consider options to invite your or your manager’s thinking patterns to change.

Speaker bio:
Johanna is an author, consultant and speaker; expert in managing high technology product development. Her books can be found on th eusual platforms (and https://www.jrothman.com/books/) and titles include;

“From Chaos to Successfully Distributed Agile Teams”

“Hiring Geeks that Fit”

“Predicting the Unpredictable: Pragmatic approaches to estimating cost or schedule”

In her bio she describes herself;
…people know me as the “Pragmatic Manager.” I provide frank advice–often with a little humor–for your tough problems. I suggest you think about your context because your circumstances are unique. I help leaders and managers do reasonable things that work. I write an email newsletter, the Pragmatic Manager, and two blogs on jrothman.com, and a personal blog on createadaptablelife.com with its own newsletter.
