The Premise and Promise of Agile

February 23, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

This interactive session will explore the premise of the agile manifesto and the implied promise of agile itself. Has either been achieved? In what ways has agile succeeded and where has it fallen short? How could we as a community rediscover the value of agile for ourselves, for each other, for our community and for the world at large?

This talk is designed in sync with two other events:
– A Lean In Agile (LIA) spiral event focusing on amplifying women’s voices and women’s needs on the same topic.
– A global retrospective exploring how could the Agile Business Consortium support the ongoing iteration and value realization of agile

SPEAKER
Leila Rao
Leila Rao is an enterprise Lean-Agile consultant optimizing the ability of organizations to discover, deliver and realize value iteratively. She integrates Lean values and practices, gained from years of Lean experience in the healthcare industry, with Agile principles drawn from years of working within the information technology realm to facilitate sustainable organizational change efforts.

She is the creator of the Compass for Agility framework, which will be published in a book of the same title this fall. The framework integrates principles design thinking, lean, facilitation and agile so that organizations can shape their own compass to adapt to the twin challenges of the increasing rate of change and increasing complexity of challenges.

She has previously consulted with complex organizations including Blackboard by AIG, UnitedHealthcare, IHG as well as several United States government agencies including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, the United States Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Courts.
