Pragmatic Agile, from pitfalls to pragmatism

There are many pitfalls in agile. You may have heard people say things like “Agile doesn’t work” or “for Agile to work you need these things in place first” etc. The agile evangelists will tell you that it’s not the fault of agile, but that it’s simply highlighting an existing problem.
But what if you can’t simply “fix” that problem, what do you do then?
Do you abandon doing agile altogether and go back to the old way of doing things?
