Unlocking the collective intelligence with business agility

February 26, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

In the world of today speed and flexibility is even more important than ever before. Unfortunately, this is the opposite of what our organizations have been constructed for.

Too often we find ourselves stuck in organizations with structures constructed to control instead of give flexibility. We can’t collaborate with the people we need to, or talk to customers when we want to, or make the decisions we need to deliver value – even the workplace environment is often constructed against our needs. Managers might think they don’t have the capacity to pursue new ideas, or perhaps even not the right people – this is not true. You have all of that, but you prioritize the illusion of control instead of making use of the collective intelligence in your employees.

From Agile Islands to Agile Enterprise using Beyond Budgeting

February 24, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

The external environment is changing fast and the internal management structures and processes in the entire enterprise must adapt. Agile has during the last 20 years become the “de-facto” standard for meeting the speed of change, managing innovation. Today the talk is even about creating Agile Enterprises. If companies are to avoid creating marginalized Agile islands it is necessary to challenge traditional management practice – the world of budgeting.

In this online session we will discuss the problems and opportunities with budgets in relation to Agile and present the well-proven concept of Beyond Budgeting.

Reducing Fear in Agile Transformations

February 23, 2021 By Anurag Shrivastava

“It’s been 20 years since Agile Manifesto signing, and yet the 12 agile principles can still scare the hell out of traditional organizations, inducing fears in their “command and control” culture.
Bring your courageous self to our meetup!
You will be invited to join us on a quest of finding fears/ fear symptoms in Agile Transformations.
This digital version of the “Fear in the Workplace” game will offer you a set of stories as well as a collection of Fear Monsters.
In small groups and brave discussions, you will uncover evil monsters behind these stories and together find solutions from the “Safety in the Workplace” set. You will be invited to share your own experiments to address similar challenges from your organizations. Bring your own Agile horror stories to make it real.
Come back with ideas and practices to bring more safety into your workplace.

The first versions of these games were created by Dana Pylayeva for her keynote at the “Agile Games” conference in Boston in 2018. Since then, the games have been played at conferences in US, Canada, Germany and India as well as translated to multiple languages. The games are based on Dana’s experience coaching organizations and teams internationally, as well as inspired by ideas from “The Fearless Organizations” book by Amy Edmondson.”
